Dr. Patrick Peters
Dr. Patrick Peters is a Northern Kentucky native but treats Anderson County as his second home. Dr. Peters has a wonderful wife, Leslie, and four great boys. A graduate of the University of Louisville in 2000. Dr Peters has been practicing dentistry for over 20 years and is committed to serving his patients. His interests in dentistry include sedation dentistry, implant dentistry, TMJ issues, oral surgery and Dental Exocad CAD/CAM Technology.
Constantly focused on learning and expanding his vast knowledge through continuing education, Dr. Peters is a member of The American Academy of Dentistry, American Academy of General Dentistry, American Academy of Dental Anesthesia, Fellow of International Congress of Implantology, Fellow of the Misch Implant Institute, IV Sedation Certification and Member of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry.
Dr. Chassity Betzing
Dr. Chassity Betzing has called central Kentucky home for the last 19 years. Originally from Northern California, she moved following the military after her grandmother's recommendation. She has deep roots from Eastern Kentucky, where her grandmother is from. Dr. Betzing completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Kentucky with a degree in Biology. She continued with her DMD degree from the University of Kentucky. Dr. Betzing's interests/experience in dentistry include Pinhole Surgical Technique, Implantology, sedation dentistry, and she has a passion for cosmetic dentistry and facial esthetics.
Dr. Betzing is committed to providing Family Dental Center patients with the best possible comprehensive dental care available using state-of-the-art equipment and high-quality training. She believes the dental visit should be as comfortable and relaxing as possible. Providing an atmosphere that is conducive to learning about your dental health and laying a foundation based on respect, communication, trust, and understanding. Dr. Betzing is a member of The American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry and The American Dental Society of Anesthesiology. Dr. Betzing is currently accepting new patients. She looks forward to meeting you and your family.
Dr. Jason Chen
Jason Chen is originally from Southern China, he moved to Kentucky at age 11 and has been here ever since. He also speaks fluently in Mandarin. Dr. Chen completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Louisville with a degree in Biology. He continued with his DMD degree from the University of Louisville.
Dr. Jason Chen is fueled by his passion to provide his patients with the highest quality of dental care and patient comfort via a comprehensive approach. He considers himself a ‘forever learner,’ eager to build on his dental foundations using advanced biotechnology and, so he stays in tune with the latest dental knowledge through continuing education. His hunger for advanced dental research and wanting to be the best clinician as possible, he has taken over 100 hours of continuing education classes while in dental school. Dr. Chen believes personal wellness is key to success. He spends his free time on fitness, cooking, travel and gaming.
Dr. Jason Chen is also a member of The Academy of General Dentistry, and The American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry.
Dr. Nancy Shackleton
Dr. Nancy Shackleton has been the Orthodontist at Family Dental Center for 21 years. Dr. Shackleton became an orthodontist largely because of treatment she received as an adolescent. “I loved the environment I was treated in, with happy energetic people creating a beautiful smile for me, and that is exactly what we try to give our patients today!!”
She was born and raised in Louisville, KY and attended Bellarmine University and the University of Louisville. Four years of dental school and a 2 year orthodontic residency there, completed 25 years of education! She has two daughters, one a dental hygiene student at WKU and the other graduating from high school this year and attending UL in the fall. Her daughters and 2 female Yorkies keep her busy in her free time and make her smile daily. She loves camping, gardening, dabbling in Triathlons and most anything outdoors. Many ask why she still commute from my 3 day practice in Louisville to Frankfort on Thursdays. That is easy! Dr. Shackleton values the patient and parent relationships she develops. She values the people that she works beside and is proud to call them teammates. Dr. Shackleton is proud of the care that patients receive at Family Dental Center and values the ability to give patients what they want and deserve: a beautiful smile and healthy functional bite.

Ellen Bradshaw
My name is Ellen Bradshaw and I do the doctor's schedule here at Family Dental Center! I have been here since October of last year and I've felt a part of the family ever since. I chose the dental field because I've always loved going to the dentist and getting my teeth cleaned. The dental field is also a great way to help others, helping people is another thing I love to do. Every day I learn something new about dentistry; which is a great way to keep me interested. When I’m not with my awesome FDC fam; you can catch me at the lake during summer, watching ALL the Christmas movies during winter, playing with my puppy Izzy and eating way too much Mexican food. I hope to see your smiling face at my window soon!
Darlene Perkins
My name is Darlene Perkins. I have been the book-keeper for Family Dental Center since 2015. I retired from Sylvania Lamp in 2015 but, I missed working and being with people. I found a great family to work with at Family Dental Center. I’m a January baby born in Campbellsville, Kentucky. I moved to Frankfort in ’87. I have one son, Scott and 4 grandkids; Amanda, Kayla, Brooklyn and Jackson. I also have 7 great grandchildren; Haley, Evan, Ashton, Riley, Madelyn, Jack and Austin. When I’m not working or being with family I love to read and go to concerts. Family Dental Center is a great place to work with wonderful people that take extra special care of their patients.
Tracy True
Hello. My name is Tracy True and I have been at Family Dental Center since 2002! I was trained as an Expanded Duties Dental Assistant, which was my first position here. However, I have worked as a Business Assistant at the front desk since 2005. I have always had an interest for dentistry from an early age. At the age of 16 I was in a wreck, which knocked my lower front tooth out and broke my jaw. The team that took care of me took such great care, that I wanted to be able to do the same for someone else. I really hope that I can make a difference to our patients, even though I'm at the front desk. I hope that I can at least try to make them feel at ease. My birthday is September 25th. I was born in Lexington, where I lived until high school. Before my freshman year we moved to Winchester, where I graduated from GRC. When I met my husband, I moved to Frankfort which is where he is from. I am married with two grown sons now (how did that happen?!) and two grandbabies, that I adore. I love dogs! I lost my oldest fur baby, Joey, a year ago last August. I am still heartbroken. He was 13 years old. Thankfully, we still have our fur baby Thumper. He is a pit bull, but the biggest baby you will ever meet. He is such a sweet boy! I also love music, it is my stress relief and I love spending time with my friends and family!
My name is Lisa Grammer and I am currently the Office Manager at Family Dental Center. I have worked at Family Dental Center for 14 years. I started out as a scheduler and checking in patients; from there I have worked all the jobs in the front office until eventually being promoted to Office Manager. I celebrate my birthday in December and was born on an army base outside of Boston, Massachusetts. I was an army brat, so I grew up all over the world including; Germany, Alaska and eventually coming back to Louisville, Kentucky. I've been married to my husband for almost 40 years and we have two daughters who are both nurses in Louisville, Kentucky. I’m waiting on some grand-babies, but for now I've got 2 grand-dogs. Thanks for taking the time to get to know me and I love getting to know all of our patients at Family Dental Center!

My name is Jessica, I am married and we have a little girl Lab that has my husband wrapped around her paw. I have worked in the Dental field for 30+ years and have been at Family Dental Center for almost a year now. I enjoy colorful art and working outside in my gardening.

Emily Brown
Hi everyone! My name is Emily Brown and I have been a Dental Hygienist at Family Dental Center for almost 3 years. When Dr. Peters hired me on as a part of the FDC team, I knew it would be a perfect fit for me, because FDC had been my dental home for 15 years! I enjoy connecting with patients and building lasting relationships while helping them achieve optimal oral health. I am 27 years old and Frankfort has always been home. In my time away from the dental chair, I enjoy spending time with my family & friends, boating, eating Mexican food, taking vacations, and cheering on the Kentucky Wildcats. My husband, Josh, is a police officer and we have a 6 month old baby, Grayson; who we adore! I love being a mommy! We also have a fur baby, Leo. He’s a 2.5 year old, 95 pound German Shepherd, who thinks he’s a lap dog. I look forward to making an impact on my patients overall health for years to come!

Sheila Daniel was born and raised in Eastern Kentucky. She is a 1996 graduate from Morehead State University with a BA in Business and Finance. After working several years in the business sector, Mrs. Daniel switched career paths and enrolled in the Dental Hygiene program at Big Sandy Community and Technical College. Upon obtaining her licensure in 2008, she relocated to Lawrenceburg Kentucky with her family and began her career as a Dental Hygienist with Family Dental Center.
Sheila has a genuine love of learning. With dentistry being an ever changing field of study, being a hygienist affords her the opportunity to continue learning and share this knowledge with her patients for optimal health.

Hi, I'm Lisa! I have been a practicing Dental Hygienist since 1978, and have been with Family Dental Center since 2007. I moved to Kentucky in 2004 and immediately loved the state and the people here. There is no place I'd rather be! I have always enjoyed my career; it is very satisfying to help my patients attain health and teach them all about their overall wellbeing and the conditions in their mouth! I love to see the results!
Leslie
Leslie is graduate from Anderson County High School and a graduate University of Louisville with a degree in Dental Hygiene. She has been practicing dental hygiene for 15 years not only in a clinical setting but also brings her love of dentistry to the surrounding communities through educating Pre-K to 12th grade students on the benefits of good oral hygiene. Leslie has been with the office for 12 years in a full and part time positions. She has 3 wonderful boys and husband that is also active in the dental field.
Nicole Burgess
Hi everyone, my name is Nicole Burgess and I have been a Dental Hygienist at Family Dental Center for almost a year now. I have been in the dental field since 2000. I started out as an expanded duties dental assistant then decided to further my career and went to hygiene school. I graduated in 2010 and absolutely love what I do everyday. I enjoy getting to know all of my patients and building that connection that will help them better their oral health. My birthday is February 5th and I was born and raised in New Orleans, LA. I moved to Kentucky after Hurricane Katrina and made this my forever home. I met my husband, Mike, the week I moved here and we have been together since. We have a 2 year old daughter named Kaylee and a baby boy named Reese; I also have a dog named Trixie that I’ve had for 13 years. In my down time I enjoy spending time with family and friends, running, crossfit and crafting. I love to be outdoors. Crystal Cheser
My name is Crystal Cheser and I am the Assistant EDDA Supervisor. I have been at Family Dental Center for 12 years. I chose the dental field because I wasn't happy with where I was in life. I heard an ad on the radio and something clicked. At that moment; I believe God led me to dentistry. I like to sing to my patients, even though I don't sing well at all. (I tell my patients that I can't sing or draw but I can make a pretty tooth.) I was raised in a small town called Eminence; where cruising was the highlight of Friday and Saturday nights. I have a son, who is pretty much grown now, but he is the light of my life and he was the motivation for me to be better person. I also have some fur babies, two dogs and one cat; Roxanne, Scooby and Jasmine the cat (she rules the house). In my free time I enjoy playing video games with my son, going out to eat with friends and am looking for a new hobby!
Holly Sparrow
Hello, my name is Holly Sparrow! I am one of the EDDA’s who keeps things flowing. I’ve been in Dentistry for 42 years. I love what I do and I love to make people smile. Serving my patients is my passion! I have been at Family Dental Center for about 10 years and I also was with the practice in 1981 when the office was first established. I left for a while and decided to return to FDC to retire. I am very proud to work with our great doctors and wonderful team! We all have the same passion to serve. I have developed lifelong friendships through my time at this office. It is a GREAT team! During my off time I love to spend it with my fur babies, family and working-out. I have a dog; Valentine and 3 cats. I also love to be with my family, who always comes first. I spend a lot of time with my 90 year old mother and I love fitness! It is very important to me. I have a beautiful daughter that shares my passion and is also an EDDA. I recently got married to my friend from High School 40 years later! Life is short and I live it to the fullest! I’m very blessed and I can’t wait to meet you when you come to FDC.

Hey everyone! My name is Brittany and I’ve been with Family Dental Center for 5 years now! I am a Surgery Assistant and I absolutely LOVE what I do! I’ve always had a passion for helping others and what better way to help someone than to help them with their smile? I have a 10 year old that keeps me busy and in my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family, friends, traveling and watching the boys in blue (GO CATS!!) Andrea Barrass
Hello everyone! My name is Andrea Barrass and I have been an Expanded Duties Dental Assistant at Family Dental Center for two years now. I absolutely love what I do. I’ve always had a passion for making a difference in someone’s smile. I have been through a lot of dental work myself, and can understand what patients go through to get your ultimate goal for your smile. You will usually see me with Dr. Peters and Brittany doing surgeries. (Surgeries are my favorite) But, if you happen to see double of me, you are probably right because we just recently hired my twin sister, Alicia! I’m so excited to have her on our team! My birthday is March 17th and I was born in Lexington, KY but moved to Frankfort a couple years ago. In my time away from FDC, I am still in school to expand my knowledge and future in the dental field so I am usually studying or spending time with my husband, Ryan. I also love fishing, hunting, going to the lake, anything outdoors and spending time with friends and family! I look forward to meeting you all!
